Summer!

The weather isn’t inspiring but flipping the calendar page has been … it’s time to think of summer reading!
Many of us have rituals around packing and selecting books for extended stays away, sometimes to destinations remote. Have you begun your planning? I have a list on the go and will be sharing it with you here soon. Before I do, I thought I’d offer to collect some of your summertime reading suggestions and then put them together with mine in a “shopping list” of sorts for Bedside Table Books followers. I haven’t read this book but there is a video clip of Katrina Kenison reading an excerpt from her book, “The Gift of an Ordinary Day” that I find VERY moving. I have know idea how to attach the clip but I know you could figure it out Susan! I have it at
One of the books I plan to read this summer is, “Tales from my Father: a Story of Race and Inheritance” by Barack Obama.

This summer I want to read the first of murder/mystery/detective serie by the Swedish author Ake Edwardson. I can’t wait to see how it compares to Stieg Larson’s Millenium serie.
